Waking-up to news radio was a challenge with several rulings from the Supremes, critical thinkers,

Keeping with the Diana Ross theme, let us call this first ruling, "You Can't Hurry Love."

NY TIMES: JUSTICES LET PARENTS OPT OUT OF CLASSES WITH LGBTQ STORY BOOKS

The storybooks included “Pride Puppy,” an alphabet primer about a family whose puppy gets lost at a Pride parade; “Love, Violet,” about a girl who develops a crush on her female classmate; “Born Ready,” about a transgender boy; and “Uncle Bobby’s Wedding,” about a same-sex union.

I almost opened the blogpost with the musing of something along-these-lines:

"At least the fragile Israel vs Iran ceasefire is holding, because there is too much other news to cover."

. . .then I just ran across the president's comments from just moments-ago:

Trump Says He Would Bomb Iran if it Enriched Uranium Again

Back to the SCOTUS Rulings:

For those who have time to sift-through the 119-pg ruling, here it is off of the court's official website

This is the one regarding federal district court judges being able to file suit to stop an administration implementation of policy of an executive branch executive order or foreign policy dictate, for example.

As we speak, there are reporters, judicial scholars, and others, combing-through the order; initially, here is what is being reported:

To clarify, it is important to understand the court--as is often the case--left open the ability of lower courts and themselves to modify or revisit the ruling; maybe this will help explain:

In the 6-3 ruling, the justices did not rule on the constitutionality of President Trump’s executive order seeking to end the right to birthright citizenship itself. But in limiting the authority of lower court judges to temporarily pause his actions, it effectively allowed his order to soon go into effect in 28 states that have not challenged the order.

Another 6-3 Ruling: SCOTUS Upholds Texas Adult Website Age Verification Law

There is so much to digest on this District Judge Powers/ Birthright citizenship case--which will be yet to be determined--I found this AP story covered many of the ramifications. This article also takes a look at other or lesser--but significant--rulings by the court.

Exhausting,

Drake
