Admittedly, I resisted chiming-in on several of the big stories the last 24-36-hours; sometimes, it is best practices to let the newscycle shakeout.
Case-in-point, this beeper story has a lot of pitfalls when it comes to unknowns--even at this hour.

Now, let me establish my personnel connection to the world of beepers.
Multi Family Housing Maintenance Supervisors Were Connected 24/7
Running the maintenance-side of 178-350 unit apt complexes, meant higher compensation and a 2-bdrm/2-bath. After my first gig, I figured-out providing only a tax-free one-bdrm was discriminatory because I was single; that said, a maintenance supervisor--usually--means longer hours on salary, doing the turnover/vacancy vendor scheduling with 12-24 vacancies per-month.
Yet, still getting-out in the morning to pick-up trash with the team, sweeping-up dumpster areas, and performing all of the same work order calls from clearing toilets, replacing garbage disposals, or repairing appliances.
Legally, the pools and spas needed attention every few hours with filtration GPM readings & chemical levels (PPM) requiring to be logged for the county health department.
Okay I Can Tell You Are Already Getting Bored
Me too, but I just wanted to wrap-up this disertation with the fact of when the texting beepers came-in-- late 1990's--it made it much easier to bother me when I was not on-call to disrupt my weekend with responses to superfluous updates on a lockout or move-in issue which my maintenance people were already handling.
In other words:

Don't know what it will be called, yet with now two-assassination attempts, pending further civil unrest, and WW III about to intensify, we are inching-towards SHTF territory, no?
