As I walk around, I see more and more businesses shutting-down as I predicted last fall for the new year; obviously, they tried to hang-on, now see everything collapsing and figure now is the time; a new year underway, no more quarterly IRS withholdings, bookkeepers, accountants. Tired of boarding up or replacing windows and inventory due to rampant unprosecuted crime--victims faced with repeated break-ins and theft as criminals are released time-after-time with no bail to victimize all of us over-and-over.
I will bullet point this because the CT&Place Newsroom has radio, TV, and local streaming reports on the absolute societal meltdown underway, and honestly, there is too much to list.

With remote work here to stay and hybrid schedules requiring only a few days per week in-office becoming the norm, office vacancies in The City’s business core started the year at a record 35.6%, according to real-estate firm CBRE.
That is roughly equivalent to 22.5 Salesforce Towers — and experts expect the empty space to grow.
