Welcome back critical thinkers.
When I first saw the ongoing massacres of families caught by surprise at home, I thought, "Aren't most households armed and practically everyone considered part of the reserve in Israel?"
The answer is a completely illogical, "NO."
. . . guess you were thinking neutral Switzerland, Drake
Anyhow, I cannot understand a country with Israel's tragically bloody history--often under attack from all sides--not striving for a policy-driven plan to arm and train a sizeable portion of the populace; arguably, why you would not have suitable home defense capability in what is a warzone with those who continually vow to want to kill you just a few miles away and militarily attack your country, year after year?
Usually, I do not link to Breitbart.com as it skews hard right, but for our purposes today, there is so much news unfolding so quickly, not a lot of time to track-down where I heard this; yet. I have heard and read this 2% figure from numerous sources over the last few days.
Breitbart: 10,000 assault rifles Being Distributed to Israeli Civilian Security Teams
Sooo, let me get this right:
As a US Army Infantry Vet Who Qualified 40-for-40 Awarded Expert M-16/Expert M-203 Grenade Launcher I Have Questions:
Do these citizens have experience with the weapon? How to clear a jam? How about the all-important ability to breath-and-squeeze once acquisitioning your target--negatively impacted by being under fire?
Then, the issue of how much ammo wasted by the ill-trained--ideally--utilizing 3-round semi-automatic bursts when not sighting a single-shot critical-center-mass kill or even cleaning and a familiarity with reassembling the firearm?
I could go on and on!
Are they limited to unsuitable ten-round clips like so many of our leaders promote or how to put down suppressive-fire to move from position-to-position using cover and concealment [where 20-30 round clips can help one to survive?]
Ridiculous, let's move on
TALK OF NOT BEING AN INTELLIGENCE FALIURE: HOW DID THIS HAPPEN
There are a lot of prominent analyst, pundits, and academics who are of the opinion that this may have been allowed to happen. Many expressing that the signals intelligence capabilities possessed by the Israeli's exceeds the US's NSA or the combined intelligence agencies which team with Big-Tech to track our every move--increasingly, our thoughts?
How did they not even notice all of these hang gliders being delivered in a country where all phone and every internet keystrokes are categorized like our US police state?
Did they order from Amazon, home-make, or order the additional hardware through third-parties?
Not A Lot to Go on Yet: My Gut Tells Me This
Leadership in Jerusalem assessed they could no longer depend on the US to defend them after continuing--even funding--Tehran building a small number of nuclear weapons; unacceptable to Israel, unleash or let go forward
their 911,
wipeout Hamas and with it Ramallah, and draw in other middle Eastern players while--at some point--destroying Iran's capability to deploy nuclear lethality.
How this is done militarily remains to be seen, but that is my supposition of something along-the-lines of or the highly potential end game--a possible nuclear strike on Iran's nuclear research and production program and facilities.
Okay, I could give you guys a hundred links, but as CT&Reasoning readers, you are experienced consumers of news content, have been following most of this, and I will be back soon.
But here is a few at this hour (9:30 PDT)
In a Not So Fun Unrelated Story
I had three of the GM 'A Bodies: 1968 OLDS 442, 1972 4-sp SS Chevelle, and 1971 Buick Gran Sport (GS)
. . .long priced out, a 1967 400 ci Pontiac GTO almost became my first car until--upon inspection--my father's longtime Union '76 Mechanics, Al & Chuck, located at Fair Oaks Blvd & Munroe in Sacramento told him.
Al: "Willard. . .Do you know what this is?"
Willard: "A two-door Pontiac Coupe?"
Al: "No, this is like strapping your kid to an engine."
Chuck: "Wrong first car, Willard."
AND, that is how I got stuck with a 1972 307ci Chevy Rally Nova
. . .sporty with a manual tranny, one sport mirror, and a stripe--that was about it!
However, the 2-barrel carb was quickly replaced with a 600 CFM 4-barrel Holley, single exhaust changed out to dual exhaust headers, blowing up the long-throw Saginaw 3-speed trans to be replaced by a Hurst Competition-plus Muncie 4- sp, and I was hard on clutches and tires requiring an upgrade:
The Nov went on to turn a respectable flat 15.2-sec-quarter- mile at the drags in Rancho Cordova, CA.
Hot Fun in the Summertime!
Escape with Me for a Few Minutes
Good times I remember,
Drake
