Emily List Founder Laphonza Buttler Appointed to Replace Feinstein

KTLA 5 LA: FORMER KAMALA HARRIS ADVISER LAPHONZA BUTLER NAMED TO FEINSTEIN SEAT

In choosing Butler, Newsom fulfilled his pledge to appoint a Black woman if Feinstein’s seat should become open. However, he had been facing pressure by some Black politicians and advocacy groups to select Rep. Barbara Lee, a prominent Black congresswoman who is already running for the seat.

Butler will be the only Black woman serving in the U.S. Senate, and the first openly LGBTQ person to represent California in the chamber.

You know, I find it quite revealing that the Dems found themselves painted-into-a-corner with the unpopular Harris--for whatever reason--to be succeeding Biden at the-top-of the ticket.

I really do not find her that stupid [she passed the bar.] Or her Hillary-like cackle too disturbing; yet, in several posts, I have floated the idea Harris would be appointed to the CA US Senate seat solving her not being popular enough to lead the DNC Presidential ticket, once the party finishes off Biden in the next few weeks or months.

Alot going on, and I will be checking in tomorrow,

Good morning with final musings on all of this upon rising from the sack [not The Sac as in previous decades,] critical thinkers,

Theoretically, Harris could have filled the Feinstein seat and then Newsom would have been--first--the sitting VP, going onto be the incumbent or sitting president running for reelection in 2024.

Great theory, Drake, and I have had plenty of company among the punditry who also floated that very idea.

One Last Thought Clarifying the Immediacy of Last Night's Post

Regarding my checking of all of the boxes comment?

In retrospect, who could argue against President Johnson's elevation of one of the lead attorneys who argued Brown v School Board (1954) to become the first black Supreme Court member or Reagan's [also long overdue] appointment of Sandra Day O'Conner to the high court.

So, with that said upon further reflection, having someone who brings a LBGT perspective to the court. . .

err. . . the senate chamber, could be seen as positive development at this point in time [obviously, there have been others previously undisclosed over the years]

Not that you know anything about that, Drake!

Not the Final Word Afterall

Chiming-in this noon, apparently, Butler identifies as Lesbian, and now Newsweek is reporting she is not a resident of Californian.

This noon, Kron 4 is reporting she has retained a residence in CA

Confused,

Drake
