Today, I heard a commercial pilot call-in to a nationally syndicated talk show, alleging that so many pilots have been grounded with bad EKGs or suffered heart attacks and can no longer fly; astonished, he contends many of the flight delays are, also, from a shortage of pilots.

So, after almost 3 years of medical martial law, could it be the resulting surge of everyone to air travel--compounded by pilots who did not take the jab or were otherwise terminated or employed elsewhere during Covid--is a considerable factor? 

Critically thinking, would there not likely be a shortage of captains, navigators, and other stewards, maintenance, and logistics personnel? 

Just to be fair, it has come to light that Southwest Air executes flight-to-destination & then a turnaround which does not facilitate hubs--in short, where the other carriers can switch up their personnel; for instance, pilots got stranded at certain heavily impacted or snowed-in airports.

It is weird and not a lot to go-on, yet I wanted to get this posted started, and I will start drilling-down on this and another question I poised a couple posts ago:
